Minimal WordPress Artist Website Revamp

I have a minimal WordPress artist website with four pages: Home, About, Paintings, Texts.
The site already exists — I’m not sure whether it is better to adjust and refine the current build or rebuild the same pages cleanly inside WordPress.
I want the freelancer to evaluate this first.

Important:
The Texts page is login-protected and must remain private.

What I need:

Consistent layout, spacing, and typography across all pages (mobile and desktop)

A clean, simple image gallery structure for the Paintings page

A refined layout for the About page, with one new short statement included

A refined layout for the private Texts page so that all entries have a uniform visual structure

Keep everything minimal, quiet, desert-like

Avoid heavy plugins or complex systems

The site must remain easy for me to edit myself
