Build WordPress News Website with GeneratePress
I am looking for a skilled WordPress freelancer who can build a news-oriented website using the GeneratePress theme (no other theme).
The project includes:
Homepage design: modern, fast-loading, magazine-style layout for a news portal.
Category page template: structured overview of articles in specific categories (e.g. news, events, reviews).
Single news/article page: clean, easy-to-read layout with featured image, content, and related posts.
Requirements:
Proven experience with WordPress and specifically GeneratePress (please provide portfolio or examples).
Focus on performance, clean design, and SEO-friendly structure.
Responsive design for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
Ability to customize GeneratePress (hooks, elements, layout options) without relying on heavy page builders.
Nice to have:
Experience with news/magazine websites.
Knowledge of speed optimization (Core Web Vitals, caching, image optimization).
Deliverables:
A working WordPress installation with the three main templates/pages (Homepage, Category, Single Article).
Documentation on how to add/edit categories and news posts.
