Shopify Store Build & Product Migration Specialist (Innovative Design Focus)
Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced Shopify developer/designer to build a brand-new, modern, and highly intuitive e-commerce store. This store will replace our existing website and will focus solely on providing a seamless, innovative shopping experience for our customers.
The new store must be user-friendly, mobile-responsive, and visually appealing, elevating our brand presence. The scope includes initial store setup, custom design, theme configuration, and the migration of approximately [Insert Number of Products - Estimate based on your CSV] products.
Key Deliverables
Complete Shopify Store Setup: Including domain connection, payment gateway integration, shipping rate configuration, and standard policy pages.
Innovative & User-Friendly Design: Implement a modern, clean, and intuitive design that makes browsing and purchasing quick and easy. The design should be an evolution of our current brand aesthetic but significantly more innovative and streamlined.
Product Migration: Accurately import and populate all product data following the specific process outlined below.
Essential App Installation: Recommend and integrate essential apps for enhanced functionality (e.g., SEO, reviews, email capture, etc.).
Training & Handoff: Provide a brief tutorial/documentation on managing the new store, especially for the new product creation process.
Product Migration Process (Crucial Requirement)
The freelancer must be prepared to follow a specific, manual process for uploading products to ensure data accuracy and high-quality visuals, as our existing CSV stock list contains necessary data but also requires external steps:
Source Data: Use the provided CSV stock list ("djm_product_stock (14).csv") to obtain core product data (SKU, RRP, Sale Price, Brand, Shipping Class, URL).
Verify & Copy Title/Description:
For each product, copy the existing url from the CSV.
Paste the url into a web browser to access the current online product page.
Copy the correct, verified product Title and Description from the live page (as the CSV may contain typos).
Download Images:
Download the high-quality product images from the live product page.
Shopify Upload:
Create the product in Shopify.
Use the verified Title, Description, and downloaded Images.
Input the remaining fields (SKU, RRP, Sale Price, Brand, Availability, Shipping Class) directly from the CSV file.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven Shopify Expertise: Extensive experience in developing and customizing Shopify stores from scratch.
Design Acumen: A strong portfolio demonstrating innovative, clean, and conversion-focused e-commerce design.
Theme Proficiency: Expert knowledge of the Shopify platform, Liquid coding (if custom work is needed), and common themes (e.g., Dawn, premium themes).
Attention to Detail: Absolute dedication to accurately following the product migration process outlined above.
