Dark Fantasy Author Website Creation
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I need a visually striking online home that captures the same brooding atmosphere as my dark-fantasy books. The aesthetic should feel immediately “dark and mysterious,” yet still clean and intuitive for visitors who may not be familiar with the genre. While I’m open on the exact color palette, I do want something that supports shadowy tones—think deep blacks, greys, or muted jewel hues—without straying into neon or anything overly bright. It must be relative to a young adult ( 17+) readership as that is who my book(s) are aimed at.
Function-wise, the site has to serve three core purposes:
• A bookstore section where each title has its own page with cover art, blurb, and a section were they can buy the book from the website.
• An author’s blog that I can update myself to share behind-the-scenes posts and release news.
• A newsletter sign-up integrated with Mailchimp (or a comparable service) so I can keep readers in the loop about upcoming releases and promotions.
Please build the site on a platform I can easily maintain—WordPress or a similarly user-friendly CMS is fine as long as I can add future books without touching code. Responsive design is essential; most of my readers browse on phones. Basic SEO setup (meta tags, open-graph, and permalinks) should be in place so the site is launch-ready.
Deliverables:
• Fully functional, mobile-responsive website reflecting the dark, mysterious aesthetic.
• Admin login and a quick guide (video or PDF) showing me how to add new posts/books and manage the newsletter list.
• Final assets and any licensed/royalty-free images used.
If you’ve designed author or genre-fiction sites before, I’d love to see examples. Let me know your estimated timeline for first draft and final delivery, and any questions you have about content or branding.
