Affordable Unity Church Website Rebuild

I’m ready to leave Squarespace before the price hike hits and I want our Unity Church’s web presence to look brighter and more welcoming than ever—without blowing the budget. The goal is straightforward: rebuild our existing site on a less-expensive platform we can easily maintain and, if needed, move again in the future. I’m open to WordPress, Wix, Weebly or another sensible option; what matters most is long-term affordability and flexibility.

Core content to migrate and polish
• Home page that quickly conveys our progressive, open-to-all spirit
• About page with our history, beliefs, staff and service times
• Music page featuring audio clips, videos and upcoming performances

What I’ll need from you
• Platform recommendation with clear cost comparison and reasoning
• Fresh, responsive design that feels warm, inclusive and modern
• Smooth transfer of all text, images, videos and SEO settings from Squarespace
• Easy-to-follow hand-off guide so our volunteer team can update content themselves

Optional (let me know what’s feasible within scope)
• Room to bolt on an event calendar or online donation tool later
• Basic security and performance plugins/settings if we go with WordPress

Acceptance criteria
1. The new site is fully live on the agreed platform, with SSL working and no broken links.
2. All three pages display correctly on desktop, tablet and mobile.
3. Editing a headline or image takes no more than three clicks from the dashboard, confirmed in a brief Zoom walk-through.
