Technician Labor Tracking App
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I run an automotive workshop and need a straightforward application focused entirely on monitoring what each technician does every day. The core of the system is a clean interface where I can log – or let the techs log – their start and finish times, choose the exact task they performed, and have the software automatically calculate the labor cost attached to that work.
At the end of any period I select (daily, weekly, monthly), I want to click once and download a concise report that clearly totals:
• Hours each technician has clocked
• Specific jobs completed during those hours
• Cost of that labor, broken down per task and per technician
The report should be exportable to PDF and Excel, with totals ready for my accounting software. A simple dashboard that shows live totals for the day would be a bonus.
I’m not tied to any language or framework, though something lightweight (Laravel, Django, Node, or even a no-code stack) is welcome as long as it remains fast and easy for my staff to use on tablets and desktop browsers.
Deliverable: a fully functional app deployed to a test server, source code in a private repo, and a brief hand-over session so I can manage users and pull future reports myself.
If that sounds clear and you’ve built similar tracking or workshop tools, I’m ready to get started.
