Immediate J2EE Integration & Deployment

I need a hands-on J2EE developer who can work full-time with me from 8–12 December to wrap up an HSM-backed Java integration. You will work closely with our in-house HSM expert, who will handle all security-provider logic. Your role is to integrate our existing Java code with the JCE flow, package it cleanly, and ensure it runs reliably on Tomcat 9+.

Scope of Work (Five-Day Sprint)
1. WAR Packaging & Build Management

Create and manage the final WAR archive

Ensure all dependencies (including HSM provider JAR) are included correctly

Produce a reproducible build structure

2. Tomcat 9+ Setup, Deployment & Tuning

Configure and deploy the application on Tomcat 9+

Manage logging, monitoring, context configuration, and environment variables

Resolve classpath/provider-loading issues related to cryptographic modules

3. JCE-Based Cryptographic Implementation

Implement remaining crypto operations using Java Cryptography Extension (JCE)
(Signature, Cipher, KeyStore, certificate handling)

Integrate JCE flows with HSM-backed keys (guided by our HSM specialist)

Validate signing, encryption, and decryption end-to-end

4. Keystore & HSM Interaction Stability

Ensure correct handling of certificates, keystores, and provider initialization

Debug and stabilize the full crypto workflow inside Tomcat

Success Criteria

By the end of the engagement, we expect:

A fully deployable WAR running on Tomcat 9+

All required crypto operations functioning against the HSM

A short handover document detailing configuration, build steps, and deployment notes
