Build a Wind Strava app
Budget: €1,500 – €3,000 EUR
1) Define project scope and requirements:
- The web app will allow athletes to log in to their own environment and connect to their Strava account to access their routes and activities.
- The app will fetch all the relevant information from an activity in Strava and combine it with wind data to create visual wind maps showing wind direction and strength.
- The app will be able to change the date based on a forecast and include rules to determine if an activity is heavier than normal based on percentage and what the elevation was when it was windy.
2)Design and prototype:
- Create a wireframe of the user interface to visualize the design and functionality of the web app.
-Create a prototype of the web app to test its usability and identify any potential issues with the design or functionality.
3)Develop back-end:
-Build a secure authentication system to allow athletes to log in to their own environment and connect to their Strava account.
- Develop a system to fetch all relevant information from Strava activities and store it in a database.
- Integrate with a weather API to fetch wind data for the selected location and date.
4) Develop front-end:
- Create a user-friendly interface that displays the athlete's Strava routes and activities and the visual wind maps.
- Allow athletes to select a date and view wind data for that day.
- Display the percentage of activity based on rules to determine if the activity is heavier than normal and what the elevation was when it was windy.
5) Test and deploy:
- Test the web app thoroughly to ensure that it meets all the requirements and is free of bugs and errors.
- Deploy the web app on a secure and reliable hosting platform.
- Monitor the app for any issues and update it regularly to keep up with any changes in Strava or weather API.
6)Maintenance and support:
-Provide ongoing support to users of the web app and respond to any feedback or issues.
- Regularly update the web app to ensure that it remains secure and up-to-date with the latest features and functionality.
