Rider PWA with VueJS and BackgroundSync
Budget: £750 – £1,500 GBP
The goal of this project is to produce a set of source files that make a PWA for running in Chrome on mobile phones. The result of the project will be a set of files in Bitbucket that comprise the working PWA plus some knowledge transfer to enable us to build and run the PWA.
It will use a REST API from a JAR to be provided by us to fetch data and to provide updates. The PWA will be used by riders (our term for e-bike delivery couriers) based at our UK hubs. A preliminary version is attached and this could be used as the basis for the PWA. The PWA should use VueJS and Vuex. Login will be via the API over https. Styling should use Bootstrap 4. Indentation should be 2sp and code should use naming of functions and variables to self-document in preference to comments.
The general usage is for riders:
* to see a list of the locations they need to visit with details of the parcel to deliver
* a map view of the same data using Google Maps with pins for the locations
* buttons to press to record outcomes like successful or ‘left with neighbour’
* forms to capture additional data.
The need for the PWA aspect is due to riders sometimes being in places of no mobile connectivity when they need to record the outcome of a task e.g. delivered.

Here are the criteria for ideal candidates for this project:
Demonstrable experience using VueJS, Vuex and PWA with BackgroundSync in particular
Ability to explain sync frequencies and how we might use different frequencies
Provide some notes on how this app will be tested
Familiarity with git and able to push to Bitbucket
Available to communicate over Slack for at least some hours between 9am and 6pm UK time
Milestones
Initial system running with login, fetching tasks from API and displaying them on screen and illustrating offline support
Marking tasks as complete and illustrating offline support of that as well
Map view and all variants of completing tasks in place
Fully tested and complete
