Laravel + Vue for Caribbean Payment Platform
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Job Title:
Laravel + Vue Developer Needed to Launch Caribbean Payment Platform
Description:
We’re developing a regional digital payment platform designed to support at least 28 Caribbean islands and territories. The platform will empower merchants, nonprofits, and entrepreneurs across the Dutch Caribbean and beyond with modern, secure, and affordable financial tools. Our goal is to eliminate the dependency on high-fee processors like PayPal and Stripe by building a Caribbean-owned payment infrastructure.
The project is launching in *phases*, beginning with a *Minimum Viable Product (MVP)*: a clean, branded merchant dashboard built using *Laravel 11* and the *Vue 3-based Intez fintech theme*, which we’ve already purchased. This MVP will provide merchants with secure login, transaction management, payout requests, and admin oversight — while also tracking this platform’s revenue through fee logic and a basic ledger.
We’ve already completed key foundational work, including:
* VPS setup with aaPanel (SSL, PHP 8.3, MySQL)
* Domain and subdomain ready
* Database created
* Logo and brand identity in place
* Intez Vue 3 theme licensed and ready for use
We're now looking for a developer to help us implement this MVP quickly and cleanly, with the right structure to scale into a full PSP in future phases.
Responsibilities include:
* Set up the Laravel 11 backend using Sanctum for API authentication
* Implement a role-based system (Merchant and Admin)
* Integrate and adjust the Intez Vue 3 dashboard to fit our branding and workflow
* Develop core modules for transaction creation, merchant balance display, payout requests, and admin approval tools
* Build and connect a revenue ledger system to track our platform commission on each transaction
* Implement CSV export functions for reports
* Connect frontend to backend using Axios
* Deploy and test the application on our VPS subdomain (e.g., app-idea.io)
Tech Stack:
* Laravel 11, Sanctum (API-only backend)
* Vue 3 (Composition API)
* Axios, Bootstrap (via Intez theme)
* MySQL
* Hosted on Contabo VPS using aaPanel (Let’s Encrypt SSL in place)
* Optional tools: Redis, Docker, Mailtrap
Requirements:
* Strong Laravel API development experience
* Skilled with Vue 3, especially integrating or adjusting third-party themes
* Experience building dashboard applications (admin, merchant portals, etc.)
* Familiarity with transaction flows, ledgers, or payment logic
* Capable of working independently with high attention to detail
* Comfortable deploying Laravel apps to a VPS (or willing to learn)
Bonus (not required):
* Experience with PSPs such as Stripe, WiPay, or Rapyd
* Knowledge of GDPR, KYC/AML requirements
* Familiarity with Caribbean financial ecosystems
Timeline:
We aim to launch the MVP within 7–10 days of project start. This is the first phase of a larger roadmap, and we’re seeking a developer who can deliver clean work now and potentially grow with us over time.
Future phases will include:
* Platform Wallet module
* Multi-currency support
* KYC/AML user verification workflows
* Public API for third-party integrations
* Payment gateway integration with local banks and regional PSPs
* Multi-tenant access for partner organizations
To Apply:
Please share a short message about your experience and why you’re a good fit. Include links to relevant Laravel + Vue work (especially if related to fintech, dashboards, or admin panels), your availability, and any questions or suggestions you have for improving the MVP.
About our project:
It's part of the *Caribbean Impact Market (CIM)* initiative, which exists to drive economic empowerment, financial inclusion, and digital innovation across the Caribbean. By building regional infrastructure, we are helping to create more equitable access to financial tools — locally owned, locally controlled, and designed to scale.
