Develop a Desktop Utility App with Electron + Vuejs
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We need to develop a compact PC utility that interfaces with a sensor connected via USB as a COM port.
Features to be implemented include:
- Automatic detection and connection to the sensor by scanning for VID/PID.
- A parser/library for the custom ASCII protocol, supporting 10-20 commands.
- A frontend designed using Vue3. For styling, you can choose between Bootstrap, Tailwind, or propose another component library.
- Display of connection status and the sensor's ID on the frontend.
- Visualization tools to represent the sensor data, such as time series and line charts.
- An interface for configuring the sensor's settings.
- Auto-update capabilities for the utility, integrated with a CI and release workflow on GitHub.
- The ability for the utility to perform firmware updates on the sensor using USB DFU (specifically for STM32). The firmware should be sourced from GitHub artifacts.
Starting from scratch, you will need to establish a clean code architecture, as well as set up the CI pipeline on GitHub.
