Group Policy VPN Access Fix
Budget: $10 – $30 CAD
Our VPN tunnel is solid, the domain join is clean, yet once a user connects from home the correct resource-level permissions don’t flow through. I need someone to jump in, review the current Windows Server 2019 Active Directory setup, and adjust the existing Group Policy Objects so that remote machines pick up the right access rules the moment they log on.
Scope
• Work only with the GPOs already in place—no new objects unless absolutely necessary.
• Focus on resource access permissions (file shares, mapped drives, printers, etc.) delivered over the VPN; local or software-licensing rules are out of scope.
• Validate that the policy applies consistently to domain-joined laptops/desktops outside the office.
• Provide a brief change log of what you touched plus a quick test plan so I can reproduce your results.
• Restrict remote users from copying or transferring data to their personal computers.
I’m available for screen-sharing and can spin up test machines on demand. If you know your way around AD DS, Group Policy Management Console, and remote GPUpdate /force troubleshooting, this should be straightforward.
