FortiGate Firmware Upgrade Help

I have a production FortiGate that needs to be moved to the latest firmware release. I will provide remote access to the appliance along with the current configuration file; what I need from you is end-to-end guidance and hands-on execution so the upgrade happens smoothly and with minimal downtime.

Before we start, I’d like you to:

• Review the existing build number and confirm the correct upgrade path to the most recent version published by Fortinet.
• Take a full configuration backup and validate its integrity.
• Schedule the change window with me, clarifying expected outage (if any) and roll-back steps.

During the change window you will load the firmware, monitor the reboot cycle, and verify that core services—VPN, policy enforcement, routing, and logging—come back online exactly as before. Please keep a live session open until we run our internal connectivity tests.
