Cash Register Express VPN Setup
Budget: $80 – $120 USD
I need my TP-Link ER7206 configured so I can reach our in-store Cash Register Express system from a Windows laptop over OpenVPN. The goal is simple: once I am outside the premises I want to launch CRE, pull sales reports, inventory data and customer transactions, or even connect straight to the underlying MS SQL database, exactly as if I were on the local network.
The router is already installed and running the Omada controller; firmware is current. What I am missing is a properly built VPN profile, the right firewall/routing rules, and a clean Windows client package. After you finish, I expect to open SQL Server Management Studio remotely, see the database, and have CRE refresh its data without timing out.
Deliverables
• OpenVPN server configuration applied on the ER7206, including certificates/keys
• Windows client bundle (.ovpn file or installer) with clear setup steps
• Any ER7206 or Windows firewall tweaks required for ports used by CRE and MS SQL
• Live test session confirming I can log in, run reports, and query the database
• A short text guide so I can add future users myself
