VLAN Mobile Casting Integration - PacketFence
I need a professional to set up mobile casting between the hotel's WiFi (VLAN 1000) and IPTV STBs (VLAN 850).
Current Setup:
1. Network
Hotel WiFi network has VLAN 1000 and has its own gateway to assign IP
addresses to mobile.
IPTV network has VLAN 850 and has its own gateway to assign IP
addresses.
IPTV gateway using Packetfence, set up as inline mode, and role-based
isolation for each guest room.
STB embedded with Chromecast in each guest room got its IP address
from Packetfence. So, each STB is isolated by Packetfence.
There is physical network cable between VLAN 1000 and VLAN 850, so
when mobile connects to hotel WiFi, Packetfence will get the mobile’s IP
and Mac address.
2. Authentication
When the mobile scans the QR code on TV screen, the mobile will be
registered to the same role of STB in the room.
This is confirmed by Packetfence.
3. Multicast forwarding
Multicast relay has been installed in Packetfence server.
*Requirements:
Casting from mobile in VLAN 1000 to STB in VLAN 850.
Mobile (iOS and Android) casting to STB.
Ensure seamless integration with existing Packetfence setup.
*Ideal Skills:
Experience with VLANs, Packetfence, and network isolation.
Knowledge of multicast forwarding.
Familiarity with mobile casting technologies.
