Japanese Audio Recording Task (no need to be a professional recorder; just need to be able to speak Japanese and English)
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
I’m a native Japanese speaker who has coordinated speech-collection jobs once or twice before, and I’m now scaling up a much larger project: about 9,000 hours of standard-Japanese speech that will be gathered entirely through smartphone recordings.
Here is what the task involves:
• Read the short script in the attached document aloud in a perfectly quiet room (no traffic, pets, or background hum) using your phone’s built-in mic.
• Follow the pacing and intonation notes in the script so the speech is clear and natural.
• Deliver the raw, uncompressed audio files exactly as recorded; I will handle any post-processing.
We need roughly 200–300 participants, native or near-native in Japanese, and comfortable enough in English to understand simple instructions. The pay rate is the equivalent of USD 30-40 per finished hour of usable speech, released in milestones as recordings are approved.

– A brief demo: record any one paragraph from the attached script (no editing, 16-bit WAV preferred).
