Female VO Announcer for Documentary Series
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I am looking for a Female Voiceover Announcer just for the "bumpers" and "Previously On..." for a Documentary Series. The whole script is maybe 5 minutes tops.. The ideal candidate should have an authoritative tone and the ability to engage the audience effectively. Pay is $250, and we expect professional, experienced talent for such a price.
You must have your own equipment and be able to submit studio-quality 44.1khz .WAV audio.
This was originally posted as a contest. I asked Freelancer whether it was normal and customary to hire VO talent using the contest format favored by logo designers. They said yes, so I first posted as a contest, then learned that most VO talent are offended by contests and want to know they are hired before they record a full submission. Sorry guys, I'm new at this, and got bad info from Freelancer. Let's start over...
We're obviously not going to hire anyone without hearing them first, and we would much rather hear you audition to our material rather than just sending us a clip of you reading something else. If you want to choose a section to read for an audition, then wait to record the whole thing only if you are chosen, that's fine. If you're unwilling to do that by all means please feel free to just send us a sample, but we're going to give preference to auditions of our own material. If you're on the fence, just send us a sample and ask us to let you know if you're "in the running" enough that we think it work your time to record an audition of our material.
The attachment explains the background on the project and contains the full script.
Rights: We are buying the right to use your submitted recording in perpetuity. There are no residuals or other payments beyond the initial payment.
Requirements:
- Experience in voiceover work for documentaries or similar projects
- Strong command over vocal dynamics and the ability to deliver a powerful and engaging performance
- Fluency in English with excellent pronunciation and diction
Project Details:

If you have the necessary skills and experience in documentary voiceover work, please submit your proposal.
