Native Japanese Speaker Conversation Recording Project
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m running a speech-data project and I need native Japanese speakers, born and raised in Japan, to record 2 hours 30 minutes of spontaneous conversations on 5 different topics of a provided list (about 30 minutes per topic) in the FunCrowd mobile app. Nothing is scripted—I simply want natural, everyday talk captured in clear Japanese.
Requirements:
- Must not have joined Japanese speaking project that used the FunCrowd app before
- Must be a native speaker of Japanese who was born and raised in Japan
- Must have a conversation partner who can record in a separate room from you and your partner must be a native Japanese speaker as well (friends or family members are welcome)
- Must be able to download our recording app FunCrowd on your mobile
- Must be able to record in a quiet place (no use of heater, air conditioner or other electronic appliances)
- Must be able to finish all recordings within 3 days
- Must have mobile phones with good-quality recording devices and at least 4GB of storage available (iPhone is preferable) and a stable WIFI connection.
Payment: 55 USD per pair
Payment will be split into two milestones and first milestone is released after finish and the second one is released once the audios have been completely checked by our client (usually takes around 3 weeks).
Once hired, I’ll send the project code and brief instructions so you can download FunCrowd, choose your topics, and start talking.
We will require you to record an audio test first to check the sound quality of your phone and whether you have access to a quiet environment. We also need to verify that both of you are native Japanese speakers.
