Conversational Audiobook Voice Narrator Needed
Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 USD
I’m expanding our catalogue of audiobooks and need an experienced narrator who can read in a warm, conversational, friendly tone. All projects are fully remote and scheduled on a rolling basis, so you can work from your own treated space using the mic and DAW you already trust.
What I’ll send you
• Finalised, proof-read manuscripts (usually 40k–75k words each)
• A pronunciation guide for names, places, or brand terms
• A production schedule with clear chapter deadlines
What I need back
• Raw and cleaned 44.1 kHz / 16-bit WAV files, chapter-segmented and labelled exactly as per the schedule
• Light editing: breaths reduced, clicks removed, no processing that can’t be undone
• One-minute demo read of the manuscript’s opening page so we can confirm pacing and tone before you record the full book
Acceptance check
• Tone matches the “conversational and friendly” direction—think engaging podcast host rather than formal lecturer
• Audio passes ACX/RMS specs (I’ll run a quick stats report on delivery)
• Chapter splits and file names are accurate; total run-time deviation under ±2 % from projected length
There’s steady work after the first title if we both like the collaboration—most of our narrators stay on for multiple series. When you reply, please include a link to a recent audiobook sample and list the mic/interface you’ll be using.
