I need help in VMware.

Several programs in my Vmware virtual machine won't show graphics (Some still do.). Sometimes a frozen image and that's it. Then if I try to back out the entire Virtual Machine crashes entirely and has a fit. I keep having to set it back up. I tried reinstalling VMware tools and nothing. I don't know what to do. The host is Windows 10 and the guest is Windows XP. The host has Nvidia and Intel core i5 beyond that I don't know how to find the rest of the info needed. I can also add that the ones that cause this issue were mostly made for Windows 95 and Windows 98. (I didn't know that when I made the virtual machine) I don't know how to install windows 98 into VMware. I'm using the free version of workstation 17. Ultimately I just want the old programs to work.
