My OPENSENSE high-availability pair is set up for failover, yet when the primary node drops, traffic never moves across to the secondary. The goal is simple: make failover work every single time.
You’ll need to trace why the HA mechanism is stalling, adjust the configuration or firmware if required, and prove the fix with a live switchover test. I can give you console or SSH access to both firewalls as well as screenshots of the current CARP/VIP setup. Once the issue is resolved I’d like a brief write-up of the changes so I can repeat them in the future.
