ESXi NVMe Passthrough Recovery
Budget: ₹2,500 – ₹0 INR
I unintentionally enabled NVMe passthrough on my ESXi 8 host and, since then, my Ubuntu VM refuses to boot—nothing on the console, busybox errors, i upload screen shot see this. I’m not sure how to roll the change back or which settings I may have broken, but I do have full admin rights to vSphere, the ESXi shell, and SSH.
and i have add pcie nvme adapter but not showing esxi.
I need someone who can:
• Identify exactly what changed when I toggled NVMe passthrough.
• Walk me through (or remotely perform) the safest way to disable or re-configure the passthrough setting without risking data loss.
• Get the VM booting again and confirm it can see its virtual disk as before.
Please be familiar with ESXi 8 hardware passthrough, VM-DirectPath I/O, and Ubuntu recovery techniques. A concise set of steps or a short live session would be ideal so I can learn the fix for future incidents.
