ESXi & NAS VM Deployment
Budget: $30 – $250 CAD
I already have the ESXi installation media waiting on-site. The job starts with loading the hypervisor onto the computer’s local drive, then configuring a datastore that sits on my external NAS over iSCSI (it’s not Synology or QNAP, so manual target creation and CHAP settings may be needed).
Once storage is online, spin up a fresh Windows Server 2022 virtual machine, join it to our existing domain, and migrate the current DHCP scopes and DNS zones from the old server so clients experience no interruption. Please secure the hypervisor, enable VM protections, and leave me with clear notes on what was done and how to grow the datastore later.
Deliverables:
• ESXi installed and reachable on the local host
• iSCSI datastore mounted, tested, and visible in vSphere
• Windows Server 2022 VM configured, tools installed, and fully patched
• DHCP and DNS roles transferred and verified functional
• Brief hand-over document covering ESXi settings, iSCSI details, and migration steps
Remote work over SSH, iDRAC, or your preferred method is fine as long as we stay within best-practice VMware guidelines.
