AIX Unix Server Migration Specialist

I am looking for a skilled AIX Unix Server Migration Specialist to assist with migrating our current server to AIX 7. The ideal candidate should have experience with AIX 7 and be knowledgeable in server migrations.

The primary objective of this role is to ensure a smooth transition from the AIX Unix environment to new systems while maintaining the functionality of mail transfer and DNS services. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing the migration process in collaboration with various teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
1. Assess the existing AIX Unix server environment and identify the specific tasks and services it provides, including mail transfer and DNS.
2. Research and evaluate alternative solutions for each task and service running on the AIX server, such as mail servers, DNS servers, and file sharing platforms.
3. Develop a detailed migration plan that outlines the necessary steps, timeline, and resources required for each task and service.
4. Coordinate with relevant teams and stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition and minimize service disruptions during the migration process.
5. Configure and deploy the alternative solutions, ensuring compatibility with the existing environment and proper data migration.
6. Test the functionality of the new systems to ensure they effectively replicate the tasks and services performed by the AIX server.
7. Collaborate with system administrators, network administrators, and other teams to update dependencies and reconfigure systems as necessary.
8. Monitor the performance of the new systems and promptly address any issues or discrepancies.
9. Document the migration process, including configurations, procedures, and any troubleshooting steps taken.
10. Provide training and support to end users or administrators who will be managing the new systems.
11. Assist in decommissioning the AIX Unix server once the migration is successfully completed and all services are fully operational.
