Souvenir Store Visual Merchandising

Job ID: 40134303

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

I am seeking a skilled, hands-on visual merchandiser to redesign and optimize the layout of my NYC souvenir store.

The goal is to create a memorable, high-impact shopping experience that feels exciting, distinctly New York, and easy to shop — not cluttered.

Functionality, flow, and sell-through, while also elevating the store’s identity so customers remember us long after they leave ◡̈ .

Key areas include:
Window Displays: Design bold, eye-catching window displays that stop foot traffic and immediately communicate a fun, iconic NYC vibe.

Apparel Merchandising: Organize and display a large volume of merchandise (30+ t-shirt designs, 20+ hoodie designs) in a curated, intentional way that feels elevated and easy to shop.

Shelving & Fixtures: Rework existing shelving and center-floor fixtures to improve sightlines, reduce visual clutter, and create a more open, inviting flow.

Brand & Experience: Help translate an iconic NYC theme into the store layout through smart zoning, storytelling, and visual moments — without overwhelming the space.

Backstock Strategy: Establish a clear system for display vs inventory, allowing variety without over-displaying.

Ideal candidate:

Proven experience in high-volume retail visual merchandising (tourist retail, street retail, fast fashion, or similar).

Strong balance of creative vision and operational practicality.

Understanding of SKU density, rotation strategies, and size accessibility.

Ability to work with existing fixtures while also recommending new racks, tables, or display fixtures when they meaningfully improve flow, accessibility, and visual impact.
Hands-on, collaborative, and solution-oriented.

Please include:

A portfolio or photos of real retail merchandising work (before/after preferred).

A brief description of similar stores or environments you’ve worked in.
