Realistic Pepper’s Ghost VFX
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a realistic Pepper’s Ghost sequence for an upcoming video. The shot must convincingly mix three elements—floating objects, holographic people or characters, and animated graphics or text—so they all read as if they occupy the same physical space in camera, without looking stylised or cartoonish.
The footage will be folded into a larger 4K edit, so I’ll supply plate shots and any live-action greenscreen if you prefer to comp from keyed talent. Feel free to build the scene in After Effects, Nuke, or any pipeline you’re comfortable with, as long as the final composites hold up to pixel-peeping on a cinema screen.
Deliverables
• Final 4K render (ProRes 4444 or lossless PNG sequence)
• Layered project file with all assets, so we can tweak timing if an edit changes
• Brief PDF or text notes outlining any special settings, blending modes, or lens data used
Acceptance criteria
– All holograms track solidly with no visible edge spill or matte chatter
– Reflections, light wrap, and bloom match the practical plate lighting
– Animated graphics remain readable even when partially occluded by talent or props
If you’ve tackled Pepper’s Ghost shots before, links to similar work will speed up awarding. I’m ready to kick off as soon as I review a concise plan and timeline.
