Measurement of coated strips

Our client wishes to gather coating defects from coated aluminium sections by physically measuring the length position of the start and end of a defect. The number of defects are random and the data will be transferred into the PC via a wireless data transfer.
Once the errors have been found the overall length is then measured.
This completes the measurement cycle and will then print a barcode to be attached to the section.
This data needs to saved in a specific format as a file which will then allow it to be read into the cutting machine which will then cut out the defects.
