Excel Income Statement Analysis

I need a hand taking raw accounting data and turning it into a clean, user-friendly workbook that produces an accurate income statement and a concise analytical summary. All work must be done in Microsoft Excel — feel free to lean on formulas, PivotTables, Power Query, or any other native tools you find efficient.

The flow I picture is straightforward: first, tidy the source data so every account code, date, and amount falls into a consistent structure; next, have the workbook roll those figures into an automatically updating income statement; finally, add a sheet that highlights the main performance trends and variances so I can discuss them with stakeholders without further number-crunching.

Deliverables I expect
• One Excel file containing
 – a cleaned data tab
 – an income statement driven entirely by formulas or pivots (no hard-typed totals)
 – an analysis tab with key ratios or variance commentary
• Brief notes explaining any assumptions or mapping logic you used

If something in the source data looks off, flag it early so we can resolve it together. Accuracy and transparency matter more to me than fancy formatting, but a clear layout will definitely earn extra points.
