XCP-NG iSCSI Shared Storage
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
I already have an XCP-NG environment up and running and a QNAP NAS available on the same network. The next step is to expose a single iSCSI LUN on the QNAP and mount it as a shared SR so every host in the pool can see the same datastore.
What I need you to do remotely: configure the iSCSI target on the QNAP (LUN creation, CHAP if recommended, correct ACLs), tune the network path for multipath/Jumbo-frames where possible, then attach the target from XCP-NG—either through Xen Orchestra or the xe CLI—so it survives reboots and shows healthy in `xe sr-list`. Once mounted, a quick live-migration test will confirm that the SR is truly shared.
Acceptance is simple: all hosts detect the SR, a test VM migrates between them without interruption, and I receive a concise runbook covering every step and setting (screenshots or commands). If you’re comfortable with QNAP QTS, iSCSI, LVM on XCP-NG, and basic performance tuning, this should be a straightforward engagement.
