Bare Metal Proxmox Hetzner Deployment

Job ID: 40379371

Budget: €50 – €60 EUR

I already have a Hetzner bare-metal machine (Intel Xeon E5-1650 v3, 256 GB RAM, 2 × 512 GB SSD + 2 × 480 GB Datacenter SSD) waiting for an operating system. Your job is to turn it into a fully-functional Proxmox VE host ready for everyday development and test work.

What I need
• A clean install of the latest stable Proxmox VE directly on the server (no nested hypervisors).
• Storage configured so that I can comfortably create fast, snapshot-friendly virtual disks. Feel free to suggest the most suitable layout for the two SSD pairs.
• Networking set up with the standard bridge that Hetzner expects plus any additional bridges or VLANs that make sense for isolated test environments.
• The platform prepared for 1-5 virtual machines to start with. I will be spinning up both Windows and Linux guests; Windows templates must be ready to activate.
• Basic Proxmox roles, backups to Hetzner Storage Box (if you recommend it), and a quick walk-through on adding further ISO images or templates.

Acceptance criteria
1. I can reach the Proxmox web UI from my public IP.
2. Storage pools and bridges appear exactly as we agreed and survive a reboot.
3. I can deploy a Windows VM from the template you leave behind, start it, and reach the network.
4. You deliver a concise text file noting every change made and all credentials created.

If you have recent experience installing Proxmox on Hetzner iron and know your way around Cloud-Init, VirtIO drivers, and GPT/UEFI quirks, this will be straightforward. Let me know roughly how long you’ll need once the IPMI/KVM details are in your hands, and I’ll open the console for you.
