Complete VPS-to-Dedicated Migration
Budget: $10 – $20 USD
I’m ready to retire my current VPS and move everything—files, databases, email, AdGuard Home, Nextcloud, a mail server, and a couple of smaller services—to a fresh dedicated machine. I also need the custom app built by Caffeine installed and running smoothly once the move is done.
The new box is already provisioned; what it lacks are my existing services, their data, and the fine-tuned settings I’ve accumulated over time. That includes every firewall rule, cron job, SSL certificate, and any other tweak that makes the stack hum. The only thing that changes is the IP address, so you’ll need to update references accordingly.
For clarity, I’ll sign off on the job when:
• All services (web, mail, AdGuard Home, Nextcloud, Caffeine app, plus the few smaller ones) are live on the dedicated server with their data intact.
• DNS and MX records point to the new IP and propagate cleanly.
• Firewall rules mirror the old setup but reflect the dedicated server’s address.
• SSL renewals and any scheduled tasks work without errors.
• I can decommission the VPS with zero data loss and no downtime complaints.
If you’re comfortable with end-to-end server migration—rsync, database dumps, systemd service configuration, iptables or nftables, Let’s Encrypt, the whole lot—let’s get this done. Instead of using mail in a box would like to try this one that support jmtp I forgot the name of it.
