Attention independent filmmakers: South China Morning Post is looking for ready-made films to showcase on our premium strand, SCMP Films starting in the first quarter of 2022. These are character-driven stories that shine a light on societal issues. We are looking for stories from across the Asia-Pacific that run between 7-15 minutes in length. Previous films we have made in collaboration with freelance filmmakers have focussed on issues of poverty, animal welfare, environmental pollution and substance addiction. Ideally, we are looking for films that have already been made and are looking for an international platform to be showcased on, but we are also open to pitches from filmmakers looking to make a film from scratch.
