Job Description
We are looking for an experienced VR-focused web developer to fix and standardize both inline and immersive VR video playback and download behavior on an adult VR passthrough tube site.
The primary issue is that audio plays but video does not render in Meta Quest Browser immersive VR mode, along with playback and download problems in DeoVR and Playa. This role requires real VR headset testing and a solid understanding of how immersive VR playback, VR browsers, and VR video apps differ from standard web browsers.
Scope Clarification
This role does not involve passthrough or mixed-reality development. The task is limited to ensuring fully functional immersive VR video playback (entering and viewing in headset VR mode) in Quest Browser, as well as compatibility with VR video apps such as DeoVR and Playa, which manage passthrough internally.
Responsibilities
* Diagnose and fix Quest Browser issues where immersive VR mode plays audio but fails to render video
* Ensure videos correctly enter and render in immersive VR mode in Quest Browser
* Resolve QR-code playback blocking in DeoVR and Playa
* Fix inconsistent download button behavior in VR browsers/apps
* Ensure Delight XR functions reliably in both inline and immersive VR contexts
* Test fixes on real Quest hardware (Quest 2 / Quest 3)
* Maintain compatibility across desktop, mobile, and VR
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in immersive VR web development
* Strong knowledge of:
* HTML5 video
* WebXR / immersive media playback
* Meta Quest Browser immersive VR behavior
* Experience working with:
* DeoVR
* Playa
* Other VR browsers or VR video apps
* Solid understanding of:
* VR video codecs and stereo/180/360 formats
* Quest hardware decoding constraints
* HTTP headers and streaming behavior
* CORS and cross-origin policies
* Ability to test and debug on actual Quest hardware (required)
