URGENT: Android Streaming Expert (HLS + ExoPlayer) – Fix Buffering & Enable Live Streams in 10 Days
We have an Android-based digital signage platform that currently plays MP4 ads using ExoPlayer. The problem: ads buffer and do not load smoothly, making the platform non-commercial.
We need an expert (NOT a beginner, NOT someone “learning”) who can start immediately and deliver the following within 10 DAYS or sooner:
Fix buffering by implementing HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) with adaptive bitrate for ads.
Enable live streaming capability at the player level (test with a sample HLS URL).
Ensure seamless ad transitions, minimal gaps, and stable playback.
If you cannot show proof that you’ve successfully implemented HLS + ExoPlayer before, do NOT apply.

What Needs to Be Done:
• Implement HLS adaptive streaming for internal ads (convert MP4 → HLS segments + playlists).
• Enable HLS live stream playback in ExoPlayer (test with sample URL).
• Integrate into:
• SIMI AdDisplay (Android App)
• SIMI AdTV (Android TV App)
• Optimize playback so there is zero buffering and smooth transitions.
• Provide clear documentation of the workflow.
Note: UI for live stream selection and backend storage for live URLs is NOT required now. For the successful applicant, there will be a separate follow-up job for this and much more work.

• Day 1–2: HLS transcoding setup + backend adjustment if needed.
• Day 3–5: HLS integration for Android screens (AdDisplay).
• Day 6–7: Live stream playback working and tested.

Deadline: 10 days maximum (preferably sooner).
No payment if milestones are missed or code does not work as required.
