I have raw footage that needs to be polished into a finished “CD-style” video—clean cuts, tasteful transitions, balanced colors, and audio that plays smoothly on standard players. Once the edit is complete, I’ll need the master delivered in a widely compatible digital file (think MP4 or a comparable format) so I can archive and replicate it as needed.
Here’s the workflow I envision:
1. Receive the source files (camera originals and any existing graphics or audio stems).
2. Trim and arrange the sequence so it flows naturally, removing dead time and tightening the pacing.
3. Add subtle transitions, lower-third titles, and any light motion graphics that elevate the presentation without distracting from the content.
4. Perform basic color correction and grading to achieve a consistent, professional look.
5. Mix and level the audio so dialogue and music sit comfortably together.
6. Export a high-quality master plus a web-friendly version.
I typically work with editors comfortable in Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve—use whichever tool you prefer, as long as the end result meets these specs:
• 1920×1080, 25/30 fps
• H.264/MP4 container, AAC audio
• No visible compression artifacts
