Job Posting: Overnight Video Editor for First-Cut Syncing (The Gold Room Podcast) – Using Blackmagic Cloud
Overview:
The Gold Room Podcast is seeking a highly efficient video editor to handle overnight syncing and first cuts for our podcast episodes. We film with three Blackmagic 6K cameras and occasionally a GoPro, capturing approximately one hour of footage per session.
Our priority is to have the first cut (multi-cam sync and rough edit) delivered overnight, so our in-house team in Perth, Western Australia can complete the final timeline the next morning.
This role ONLY requires syncing and the first rough cut—we handle the final edit, audio processing, and graphics in-house. The editor must be comfortable using Blackmagic Cloud Storage to access and deliver project files efficiently.
Scope of Work:
• Sync footage from three Blackmagic 6K cameras (+ occasional GoPro) using DaVinci Resolve and Blackmagic Cloud.
• Basic rough cut to remove long pauses, mistakes, or unusable sections.
• Deliver a clean multi-cam sequence with basic cuts—no effects, grading, or audio work needed.
• Ensure smooth and logical camera switches based on conversation flow.
• Upload and share project files via Blackmagic Cloud, ensuring our team can immediately access the first cut in the morning.
• Turnaround time: Must be delivered overnight (ready by 8 AM Perth time).
Requirements:
• Experience with multi-cam podcast editing.
• Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve (mandatory due to Blackmagic Cloud workflow).
• Experience with Blackmagic Cloud Storage (or willingness to learn).
• Ability to work overnight (preferred time zones: Europe, South Asia, or Africa to align with Perth’s schedule).
• Strong organisational skills—delivering accurately synced files and first cuts on time.
• Fast and reliable internet for seamless file uploads/downloads via Blackmagic Cloud.
