WordPress Video Platform With Monetization
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
The goal is to launch a WordPress-based video sharing site where anyone can upload their own videos and receive a share of the advertising revenue their content generates. Everything should feel as frictionless as YouTube from a user’s point of view, yet run entirely on WordPress so I can manage it without custom frameworks.
Core workflow
• Visitors sign up, create a user profile and upload videos from the front-end.
• Each video is displayed with in-stream or overlay ads. I’ll enter the rev-share percentage in the back-end and the system needs to track views, estimated earnings and payments owed to every creator.
• Site-wide performance must be fast; automatic transcoding to multiple resolutions is important so uploads play smoothly on mobile and desktop.
What I already know I need
– Clean, modern theme that can be re-skinned later.
– Reliable upload/encoding pipeline (FFmpeg, AWS Elastic Transcoder, or a proven WordPress plugin—open to your suggestion).
– Ad server integration (Google AdSense or another network) tied to the rev-share logic.
– User profile pages showing follower count, total views and earnings to date.
– Admin dashboard where I can approve videos, manage payouts and pull reports.
I’m not prioritizing live streaming or pay-per-view features right now, but the architecture should leave room to add them later without a rebuild.
Acceptance criteria
1. A new user can register, upload a video, see it live after processing and track ad-driven earnings in their profile.
2. Admin can set or change the revenue split percentage globally or per user.
3. All traffic routes through HTTPS, videos load responsively and pass a Lighthouse performance score of 80+ on mobile.
4. Clear hand-off documentation: plugin list, custom code snippets, and a short video or PDF showing how to approve payouts.
