Video Content Creator for Plastic Bank
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 AUD
About Plastic Bank
Plastic Bank is a for-profit social enterprise that turns plastic waste into currency—helping brands make impact, tell powerful stories, and grow, while creating income for underserved communities.
The Role
We’re looking for a confident, engaging on-camera content creator to bring our stories to life in the field.
This is not a traditional behind-the-camera production role, you’ll be the face of our content and capturing real, human moments as they unfold. Traveling across our countries of operation, including the Philippines, Indonesia, Egypt, Brazil, and Thailand, starting with initial projects in the Philippines and Indonesia and expanding to other locations over time. Working from storyboards developed by our Senior Creative Manager, you’ll turn creative briefs into compelling, authentic video narratives.
Your focus is on presence, personality, and storytelling. You should be comfortable stepping into dynamic environments, connecting with people from diverse backgrounds, and creating content that feels natural, respectful, and impactful. Editing is handled by our marketing team, your strength is in being on camera, capturing the right moments, and bringing stories to life in a way that resonates.
This is a contract, project-based role, ideal for freelance creators, typically part-time for a few weeks at a time, aligned to specific filming trips and content needs.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the on-camera host and personality across video content
- Travel primarily to the Philippines and Indonesia for initial projects, with expectation to support future content needs across Egypt, Brazil, and Thailand.
- Bring storyboards and creative briefs to life through real-world filming
- Conduct informal interviews and interact naturally with local people
- Collaborate with the creative and marketing teams to ensure content aligns with brand storytelling goals
- Adapt quickly in dynamic, unpredictable environments
What We’re Looking For
- Strong on-camera presence, natural, engaging, and confident
- Ability to connect with people across cultures with empathy and respect
- Creative instinct to turn a brief into compelling visual story
- Comfortable filming in field environments, particularly in areas of high poverty and plastic pollution where underserved communities work and live.
- Experience in creating content for social media and digital platforms
- Ability to self-direct and problem-solve on location
- Portfolio or examples of on-camera work (social channels, reels, YouTube, etc.)
- Clear, fluent English speaker with a warm voice and an easy-to-understand accent.
- Professional, mature, reliable, and able to represent the brand well on camera.
Nice to Have
- Experience creating travel, documentary, social impact, sports, lifestyle, or field-based content.
- Experience creating mission-driven field content for social impact or sustainability initiatives.
- Basic camera operation skills (framing, lighting, audio awareness)
- Comfortable using CapCut, TikTok, Instagram Reels, or similar tools for rough cuts.
Working Style
- Ideal for freelancers or independent creators
- Project-based with potential for ongoing collaboration
- Requires travel flexibility
