Hobart Kids Comedy Short
Budget: $5,000 – $10,000 AUD
I’m putting together a light-hearted comedy short for children, set to be produced entirely in Hobart, Tasmania. The concept is already written and purposely designed for a rostrum set-up, so every scene will be captured from an overhead rostrum camera rather than traditional indoor or outdoor locations.
What I need now is practical filmmaking support to carry the project from pre-production through to a polished master file ready for festival or online release. You’ll be collaborating with me on timing, pacing and the playful tone that keeps young viewers engaged. Experience operating or animating under a rostrum camera is the key skill; if you’re comfortable with flat-lay shooting, stop-motion plates or overhead puppetry, you’ll fit right in.
Deliverables
• Shot under rostrum: capture all scheduled scenes at the agreed resolution and frame rate
• Rough cut for review, incorporating comedic beat and kid-friendly tempo
• Final picture lock with colour correction, basic titles and credits
• Stereo sound mix, keeping dialogue crisp and effects gentle for younger ears
• A single high-quality render plus a web-optimised file
The schedule is flexible enough to accommodate weekends or after-hours access to the studio space in Hobart. I’m editing in Adobe Premiere Pro and happy to swap project files via cloud storage if you prefer to take post-production off-site.
If you love crafting imaginative visuals from a top-down perspective and have a knack for children’s comedy, let’s make this little Tasmanian story jump off the table.
