At Story Well, our mission is simple. We create a user-friendly process to help people tell and preserve their stories using everyday technology.
To get to the essence of the story, we designed a process to help clients interview someone they love, look at that person’s life in new and unexpected ways and link their life events to capture a holistic authentic picture of a person. A self-reflective home-movie if you will.
We are a startup, currently launching a round of beta testing with a global team of contributors working remotely in Norway, Switzerland, South Africa, and the Philippines.

Your Mission
From the video files that clients upload, you deliver a 30 to 45 minute video that pulls the potential out of the narrative to create a remarkable story that strengthens relationships and preserves memories. During this process, you will develop meaningful relationships with clients, learning about them and the people they love.
Your Story
You are a storyteller at heart, creating compelling stories and developing engaging content. You have experience in structuring and optimizing stories in order to fully exploit their narrative potential cinematically.
You have an eye for what makes a story compelling. You catch the emotion, the tiny tics, the inconsistencies in the story and you put them together in a cinematic style that helps the viewer see the depth and richness of the protagonist.
Your background and years of experience are less important than what you can produce. Maybe you are an aspiring film and story editor working on your own short film. Maybe you are a design student with an empathetic eye and a facility with video editing software. Maybe your day job is nursing, and your passion is digital storytelling.
No matter your experience, if you can create a unique story that shows the hidden depths of people, we want you to apply.
Next steps
1. Send an email to us with:
* less than 500 words about why you are a good match.
* 1-2 video examples (not more) and a brief explanation for why you are choosing to
show us these and what they showcase of your relevant talents.
* The subject line of the email should read: Video Editor 1 - Your Name.
2. If you are selected, we’ll schedule an informal virtual conversation to see if we are a good fit.
3. After that stage, you’ll be asked to create a video from material we send to you within specific parameters. You will be paid a $50 USD stipend to produce this regardless of whether we choose to formalize our relationship.
4. If we like your story, we’ll contract you as a freelancer and you will choose your video projects and work directly with our clients!
