Video Edit - Memorial Service
Budget: $750 – $1,500 CAD
Hello,
I'm an individual who is seeking to hire a video editor well-versed in Adobe Premiere to complete a partially-edited project.
Overview:
A musical memorial service was held in 2019 for a late family member, and was recorded for posterity as a 3-camera shoot (cameras positioned at the back of the concert hall, centre, left, and right). We are looking to have the video professionally edited into two separate versions: a single, largely unbroken cut of the entire service for family, and a much shorter cutdown of "highlights" of the various speeches and musical performances that can be printed to DVD and distributed to attendees.
Details:
This project has already been partially edited by a professional video editor, with a Premiere project file and an editing timeline pre-assembled to enable you to easily cut between the different camera angles.
Audio was mixed by a sound engineer onsite and the mix output was fed directly into one of the cameras, so the necessary audio tracks should already be in the editing timeline.
I was informed by the editor who built the project file that one of the 3 cameras unfortunately has timecode burnt into the picture. I'd be interested in discussing solutions for how to mask this (such as with a banner imposed overtop that lists the name of the speaker/performer, for example). If you have any ideas for how to possibly overcome this, or maybe work around it, please include that in your bid – open to suggestions!
The intention here is to get the full cut of the service completed first, so that family can then review it and provide timestamps to the editor, identifying which sections we would like included in the cutdown version. The final deliverable of the cutdown version will need to be in a format that can be burned to disc (if you also have experience authoring discs with basic user menus as a related skill, that's a bonus!)
Summary:
We would ideally like to work with someone who appreciates that this recording is very important to our family and is willing to put in a little love to make it look the best that it can be (within the constraints of how the material was recorded, of course).
The project currently lives on an external hard drive. It's possible that whoever takes on this project will need to be locally based so that I can courier the drive to them - or alternately, please keep in mind that an online data transfer solution that can handle large volumes will need to be in place if you're interested in this job. I'm unsure if the folder structure on the hard drive will need to be maintained in order for the partially-completed project timeline to be workable, so the safest bet is likely to work off the hard drive as is.
