Teach me to record and edit a podcast.

I want to learn how to record a podcast and understand the basics of editing. I will be recording on a Nikon camera and not sure what programs I can use to record the audio but I have all of my equipment and computer ready togo. I have final cut pro on my computer and garage band. I want to learn how to add music, build an intro to be used for every episode and learn to complete an edited episode that will get uploaded across all social media platforms.
