Taiko (Drumming Group) 20th Anniversary Documentary

Job ID: 40310175

Budget: $30 – $250 CAD

Our taiko ensemble is marking two decades of playing together, and I want to honour that journey with a short, nostalgic documentary that walks viewers through our story chronologically. I have a sizeable archive of photos and videos from concerts, rehearsals, tours and community events, but the still images will carry most of the narrative.

Here’s what I’m hoping you can help me craft:

• A 6- to 8-minute film that moves in clear time order from our founding in 2006 up to today, highlighting key milestones, players and performances.
• A warm, reflective tone that evokes nostalgia rather than a hard-hitting news style.
• A soundtrack rooted in traditional taiko drumming—either syncing excerpts from our own recordings or using royalty-cleared cues that keep the authentic feel. Natural room tone or drumheart beats are welcome touches.
• Elegant motion graphics for titles, lower thirds and year markers so viewers can follow the timeline without distraction.
• Subtle photo pans, Ken Burns–style zooms and tasteful transitions that give static images life.

I will supply:

– High-resolution scans of hundreds of photographs, already organised by year.
– A rough list of pivotal moments and names to feature.

From you, I’d like:

– Your reel or links to comparable heritage / anniversary videos you have produced.
– A ballpark cost and estimated turnaround so I can plan approvals and internal fundraising.

Final deliverables: the mastered video in 4K and 1080p H.264, plus all project files (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve—whatever you work in).

If this sounds like a project you can lovingly shape, please share your past work and a rough quote, and we can discuss next steps.
