Modern Squarespace Redesign (Seaview-Lodge.co.uk) with Hero Video & Uplisting Integration
Project Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Squarespace designer/developer to build a fresh, modern, mobile-first website for our accommodation business: seaview-lodge.co.uk.
Our current site is an older transactional website. We are transitioning to a non-transactional "brochure-style" showcase site featuring video, with all direct bookings routed through our channel manager, Uplisting.
Scope of Work:
1. Hero Video Banner Integration:
- Create a stunning, high-impact hero banner at the top of the Homepage featuring an autoplaying, looping background video showcase of Seaview Lodge (views, exterior, atmosphere).
- Ensure the video is properly optimized for fast mobile loading, styled with legible overlay text, and includes a clear "Book Now" call-to-action button overlay.
2. Content & Asset Migration: Extract all current text, photos, video links/files, room details, and key information from seaview-lodge.co.uk and transfer them to the new Squarespace platform.
3. Custom Squarespace Build: Build a responsive, visually striking website using modern typography, high-res image galleries, embedded video/media, and a mobile-optimized layout.
4. Uplisting Integration: Integrate our Uplisting direct booking engine across the site using clear "Book Now" buttons in the header, hero section, and individual accommodation/room pages (via direct links or embedded Uplisting widgets using Code Blocks).
5. Page Structure:
- Homepage (Hero section with video background, highlights, featured rooms/lodges, guest reviews, location overview)
- Accommodations/Rooms Page (Individual listings with amenities, photo carousels, optional room tour videos, and clear Uplisting CTAs)
- About Us & Local Area (Things to do, dining, local attractions)
- Contact Page (Inquiry form, interactive map, direct contact info)
6. SEO & Domain Mapping:
- Set up 301 redirects from old URLs to new Squarespace page URLs to preserve existing search engine value.
- Configure basic on-page SEO (Meta titles, descriptions, clean URL structures).
- Assist with connecting our existing domain (seaview-lodge.co.uk) to the new Squarespace site once approved.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience designing modern Squarespace sites (please provide portfolio links).
- Background in hospitality, hotel, or short-term rental web design.
- Expertise in setting up responsive video backgrounds and optimizing video performance for web.
- Experience embedding third-party PMS booking widgets/links (Uplisting experience is a plus).
