Seamless Shark VFX Edit
Budget: $10 – $30 AUD
I have a short clip filmed from a jetty on a calm lake—less than ten seconds in total—and I want a shark integrated so convincingly that viewers will doubt their own eyes. The brief is purely about realism: correct scale, natural motion, believable interaction with the water, and lighting that matches the original footage.
You will receive the native video file along with reference stills of the environment. Your task is to track the shot, create or source a high-quality 3D or filmed-plate shark, composite it into the scene, simulate subtle ripples or splashes where necessary, and finish with colour grading that blends everything seamlessly.
Tools such as After Effects, Blender, Maya, Cinema 4D, Houdini, or Nuke are all fine, provided the result is photoreal.
Deliverables:
• Final 4K render in H.264 or ProRes
• The editable project file with all assets neatly organised
• One high-resolution still showing the shark in-frame for quick review
Acceptance criteria:
• Movement, reflections, and shadows of the shark feel native to the lake environment.
• No visible edges, mismatched grain, or colour shifts that give the effect away.
• Playback is smooth with no artefacts introduced by the composite.
If this sounds straightforward to you, let’s make something jaw-dropping.
