Realistic Snow Spray for Skiing

Job ID: 40040803

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

I filmed a short run and now want believable snow spray composited wherever my skis edge or turn. The effect has to track the actual motion of the skis—speed, direction, timing—so it feels organic rather than like generic snowfall.

Key points you’ll need to hit:
• Apply spray only during edging and turning moments; leave the rest of the footage untouched.
• Match the existing camera movement so the flakes travel naturally with the carve, including medium-level motion blur that blends with the original shutter speed.
• Keep the look true-to-life—no cartoon puffs or flat white dust. Granular, crystalline snow that reacts to gravity and airflow is what I’m after.
• Deliver the finished clip in exactly the same resolution and frame rate as the source file.

If you’re comfortable rotoscoping skis, motion-tracking edges, and simulating particles in After Effects, Blender, or similar tools, this should be a straightforward VFX pass. I’ll supply the original video as soon as we agree on the work.
