JW Player Subtitle Extraction
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
Our university’s online learning portal streams course videos through JW Player v6.6, and every clip already carries a caption track. I need those subtitles extracted and handed back as straightforward - no time-codes, no SRT/VTT formatting, just the raw dialogue in the order it appears on-screen.
You’re free to use whatever workflow suits you - browser dev-tools, Python with youtube-dl/yt-dlp, ffmpeg, or direct requests to the player’s caption URLs - as long as it works consistently on JW Player v6.6 and doesn’t require administrative access to the hosting server. I’ll provide the portal login once we start.
Deliverables
• One clean transcript per video, named to match the source clip.
• A short, plain-language note outlining the steps or script used so I can reproduce the process later if needed.
That’s it: extract, save, and show me how you did it.
