Historical Documentary Editing & Scriptwriting -- 2
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I’m producing a 15–30-minute documentary that explores a specific historical event and I’m looking for one professional who can take it from raw research through to a polished final cut. The core aim is to present the material in an informative, strictly factual tone—think clear narrative structure, precise citations, and visually cohesive storytelling rather than dramatic re-enactments.
Here’s how I picture the workflow:
• You and I agree on an outline that highlights the key moments, expert quotes, and archival footage available.
• You craft a logically sequenced script (voice-over plus on-screen text) that keeps viewers oriented while preserving scholarly accuracy.
• Once the script is signed off, you move straight into editing: colour-correcting, balancing audio, adding lower thirds, and weaving in still photos, maps, or newspaper clippings to support each talking point.
• Titles, transitions, and any licensed background score should enhance clarity, not distract.
Deliverables
1. Script document in Google Docs or Word, ready for narration.
2. Final video file (1080p MP4) plus an editable project file (Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve).
I’ll share research notes, preliminary interviews, and public-domain footage links immediately after kickoff. Let me know about your experience with factual documentaries, which NLE you prefer, and your estimated turnaround time for a first rough cut.
