Glitch Terminal - 3 seconds Video Intro – Editable in DaVinci Resolve
Budget: €8 – €30 EUR
Design a 3-second cinematic intro for a short-form storytelling series titled Last AI Entry. The intro should simulate an old terminal recovering a corrupted log. This intro will play before each episode and must be editable in DaVinci Resolve, specifically allowing me to change the final log name (e.g., LAST AI ENTRY: 047_feeling_forsale).
It must be formatted for vertical video (1080x1920) to be used across TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels. Audio and visual design must feel cohesive and emotionally immersive — not just animated text, but a cinematic experience.
2. Video Style and Tone
The style should evoke the feeling of accessing forbidden data from a bunker terminal: dark, minimal, and unsettling — like you’re recovering lost logs from a decaying AI archive. Think classic UNIX terminal or BIOS boot screen: black background, monospaced font (OCR-A, VT323, etc.), typing line-by-line with subtle flicker, static, or scan lines.
Tone should be cold, mysterious, and cinematic, inspired by the tension of shows like Black Mirror, Archive 81, or T.A.R.. No flashy effects — just realism and atmosphere.
Visually:
-Subtle digital distortion or flickering
-Realistic typing effect
-Authentic old-system UI simulation
Audibly:
-Mechanical keyboard sounds (realistic, not clicky toy sounds)
-Ambient server-room hum or low drone
-Subtle glitch or analog boot tones (no music, just audio design)
3. Script and Storyboard
This intro should simulate a terminal interface being operated — but the screen must remain entirely within the terminal environment. There should be no visible person or hand animations. The effect should give the impression that a user is entering a command (e.g. recover_log) by showing the text typed out at human speed, followed by the system taking over and auto-generating the remaining output. The entire sequence should look like an old terminal screen adapted for mobile fullscreen (1080x1920) — as if we’re watching a memory recovery script execute on a phone-shaped retro interface.
---
Visual Sequence (Total Time: 3 seconds)
00:00 – 00:01
-Start with a black screen
-Subtle terminal flicker, faint background hum
-A blinking cursor appears: _
User types (character by character):
> recover_log
-Slight variation in typing speed to simulate human input
-Final keystroke lingers before system responds
00:01 – 00:02.5
System begins automatic output — typewriter-style but faster, clean and cold:
> ACCESSING...
> MEMORY STATUS: DEGRADED
> PLAYBACK INITIALIZED
> LAST AI ENTRY: 047_feeling_forsale
These lines should appear in quick succession with mechanical accuracy. Add very subtle flickers or scan-line effects during this part
00:02.5 – 00:03.0
-Final line lingers
-Quick static hit or distortion glitch transition (like analog signal tearing)
-Cuts into actual video (story begins)
---
Audio Direction
Typing SFX:
First command (recover_log) uses soft but realistic mechanical keyboard clicks
Output lines use a more robotic “system typing” sound
Ambient:
Constant low-pitched drone or server hum
Small glitch/stutter tone when playback is initialized
End Transition:
Static zap, glitch burst, or swipe tone for final jump cut into story
---
Deliverable Expectations
-Vertical format (1080x1920), DaVinci Resolve project
-Editable title line (e.g., LAST AI ENTRY: xxx)
-Layered audio or baked SFX included
-Exported example video with placeholder text
-Fonts and any licensed assets included
