Dell R630 Windows Server Optimization
Budget: ₹2,000 – ₹5,000 INR
I have a Dell PowerEdge R630 loaded with about 10 TB of SAS storage, but it is still in a factory-reset state. I need it production-ready for our corporate office and fully aligned with best-practice security and resiliency standards.
Here is what I expect you to handle end-to-end:
• Clean installation and hardening of Windows Server 2025 Datacenter (this is the target build).
• Active Directory forest/domain creation, including sites, subnets, and initial GPOs that lock down administrative access.
• Integrated DNS and DHCP roles, configured for redundancy and dynamic updates.
• File-services role with Shadow Copies enabled; please size snapshots sensibly so we can keep at least two weeks of restore points without exhausting the 10 TB pool.
• Granular NTFS and share-level permissions based on our user-role matrix (I will supply the final list of groups).
• RAID 10 on the PERC controller, verified for write-back cache and battery status; document the stripe size you choose and why.
• A daily image-based backup routine plus nightly file-level jobs to an off-box target; restore tests must prove we can meet a one-hour RTO.
• Concise disaster-recovery runbook that covers bare-metal recovery, AD recovery, and single-file restore.
• Final health check: performance counters under load, firmware/driver versions, Windows Update status, and a quick security baseline scan.
I will provide remote iDRAC access and the volume license media. Once your work is done I should be able to drop the server into the rack, power up, join workstations, and trust that data is protected and recoverable.
Let me know your estimated timeline, any additional tools you rely on (e.g., Windows Admin Center, Veeam, PowerShell DSC), and the milestones you suggest for sign-off.
